Make a difference. Every day.
Are you positive, goal-oriented, and enjoy working with children and young people? Then this is the job for you! With the young patient in focus, we provide effective care with knowledge, quality, and empathy. We are now welcoming a nursing assistant to our competent and dedicated team at the pediatric emergency department in Kristianstad.
At the pediatric emergency department, we care for children and young people up to 18 years old, 24 hours a day. Our clinic is located in newly built facilities adjacent to the emergency entrance at Kristianstad Central Hospital. We have our own emergency intake with ambulances, except in the case of major traumas, where we collaborate with the emergency department. In addition to working at the clinic, we have a close collaboration with the children's ward where we work with rotation. We are one of the few pediatric emergency departments in Sweden that collaborates with all units in the hospital. Here, nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors with various specialist competencies work together.
- What I look forward to when I go to work is meeting my cheerful and friendly colleagues. Working with children is both fun and rewarding as it requires you to use your pedagogical skills to help the patients, says Marcus, a nurse at the Pediatric Emergency Department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We offer you a varied and developing job at our pediatric emergency department characterized by high competence and strong team spirit. For us, it is a given to have fun at work, just as it is essential that we help and support each other when tough situations arise.
Working in a pediatric emergency department is much more than caring for and treating sick patients. Children can sometimes have difficulty expressing where they hurt. Your task will be to be a detective and engage in conversation at their level to determine what the problem might be. As a nursing assistant, you play a significant role in meeting and reassuring the young patient, as well as their relatives, who are often worried. A typical day as a nursing assistant in our pediatric emergency department includes receiving ambulances with critically ill patients together with a nurse, assisting in various examinations, helping with casting, and being helpful during triage.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and meets the requirements of the National Board of Health and Welfare for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied according to previous or current program structures. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. Additionally, you have experience working in emergency care and/or inpatient care. Experience with casting is an advantage.
Working with us requires that you enjoy working with children and young people. You are determined and show judgment under pressure. To thrive with us, we believe you are positive and goal-oriented, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Since no day is the same, it is important that you are flexible and can adapt to the patients you work with. It is essential for us that you can be a good ambassador for Region Skåne's values: welcoming, driven, caring, and respectful. Since we are keen to find the right person, great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
In the event of employment, a background check will be conducted against any suspicion and criminal record.
OTHER
You need to present proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have not received your proof of a protected professional title, you must attach your grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant education.
