As an assistant, you will be part of the daily life of a boy living with his family in Örebro. Getting to know the boy and his family is essential for the assistance to work in the best possible way. The boy is just over a year old and requires assistance around the clock. He receives help with breathing through a tracheostomy tube and is sensitive to infections.

As an assistant, you will receive thorough training in the medical tasks. The first training session is a full day at LIVA at Karolinska Hospital, and the remaining part of the introduction will involve shadowing to get to know the boy and your tasks.

As a personal assistant, you work in someone else's home, and it is important that you are attentive to the family's needs. You should be able to work independently but also in collaboration with other assistants and the boy's parents. We are looking for someone who is personally suitable for the assignment. It is important to us that you are responsible and meticulous in your execution of tasks according to instructions. Your personality should contribute to creating a calm and safe environment in the home.

You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.

You must be smoke-free.

In addition, it is an advantage if you also:

Are a trained nursing assistant.

Have previous documented experience with tracheostomy.

About the position

The position is initially a temporary position that is expected to be extended to a permanent schedule (full-time is 40 hours/week). The working hours for this assignment vary and include shifts during the day, evening, night, and weekends. We offer a fixed hourly wage according to agreement. Other compensations are according to collective agreements. The selection process is ongoing, and more information will be provided during a potential interview. Start date is according to agreement.
