The Social Services Department in Askersund Municipality is responsible for elderly care, LSS and care operations, social psychiatry, operations for unaccompanied refugee children, and individual and family care.

We are now looking for a social worker for the elderly care unit as our current colleague will move on to another exciting assignment within the municipality. The unit consists of 5 social workers and a senior social worker who leads and distributes tasks on a daily basis. The unit is part of the Individual and Family Care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker with us, you are the gateway to elderly care and can guide those we serve to the right support. You are responsible for assessing needs, making decisions, and following up on interventions for individuals over 18 years old, according to the Social Services Act.

We continuously work to achieve a legally secure, gender-equal, and equal exercise of authority. Therefore, legal security permeates the entire case management process, and our goal is to provide the right intervention to the right person at the right time. We are constantly working to develop our own operations, and we want you to be a natural and active part of this by participating in various working groups and individual assignments.

The work requires a responsive and genuine approach towards our citizens, and you also need to have a strong interest in collaborating with other professionals, operations, and authorities.

In your work, you base your actions on knowledge and proven experience. You take into account current legislation, guidelines, and routines and make decisions according to the applicable delegation order. Interaction issues are important to us, and we strive to be respectful, credible, clear, and effective.

Authority work places high demands on you to be both flexible and professional. You can meet given deadlines and have a high ability to structure, plan, and prioritize. By your side, you have a senior social worker who supports and coaches you in your daily work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who want to make a difference for our citizens in Askersund Municipality. You are updated in the field of social work and have knowledge of applicable legislation. We consider it an advantage to have:

a degree in social work
knowledge of and experience in investigation, case management, and documentation
experience with the IBIC documentation system.
at least one year of experience from the target group

You also need to be good at creating sustainable relationships as you are an important key person in your assignment. You will become part of a small, dedicated, and creative team that has job satisfaction and focus on the assignment. The unit continuously works to develop the operations, and the person we are looking for should be involved and contribute to development and feel engaged in the change work related to the ongoing transition within the framework of the new Social Services Act.

We work in a politically governed organization, and it is important that you understand what this means and how it affects your daily work situation. Together with you, we want to develop the future of social services, but we also know the importance of enjoying management.

You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, good documentation skills, and current knowledge of social legislation as well as a B driver's license. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and see that you have personal maturity and are secure and stable. You work independently and drive your processes forward, taking responsibility for and implementing decisions made.
