The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Gudhemsgården receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. We operate near Falköping.

Job Description

Do you want to take on a challenge with a different assignment in an exciting environment and in a smaller context? Then the job as a teaching assistant/student assistant in the school is a meaningful challenge. SiS youth home Gudhemsgården has been operational for about a year and we are still growing. Currently, we have about 20 young people enrolled with us but will have more during the year. Most students study within IMA. They are offered primary school subjects and various high school subjects based on the students' needs. In your role, you will replace regular staff in the operation when they are absent and can, at the teacher's request, guide students who, for various reasons, cannot come to school. This may involve taking on the role of a teacher in various subjects. You will be part of a team consisting of 12 people who work together for the benefit of the students.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Experience is valuable, but most importantly, you want to make a difference for each individual and you are flexible. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good relationships. High adaptability and responsiveness are prerequisites for understanding new environments and thus being able to contribute to a functioning operation. It is important that you are responsible, proactive, have good collaboration skills, and can set boundaries when needed.

You should also have:

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • B driver's license
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Relevant education and/or work experience

Employment:

Seasonal employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
