Assistant Nurse to the Intensive Care Unit

Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) operates in several locations in Skaraborg, including Falköping, Lidköping, Mariestad, and Skövde. We provide specialist medical care in about thirty specialties and work together for the health of our patients throughout their lives, offering cohesive and secure care. The area of operations is represented by anesthesia/operation, ICU/post-op, and sterile technical unit within SkaS, with hospital units in Lidköping, Skövde, and Falköping.

All units work closely together, both between locations and within the entire SkaS. We operate within our area of expertise as a whole, which means that as an employee, you may sometimes work at another location within SkaS to ensure that patients receive the care and treatment we are expected to provide. During the summer, operations are concentrated in Skövde, which may also occur during the Christmas and New Year weeks.

Our common goal is to put the patient in focus. We work process-oriented and continuously with operational development. Important qualities in our operations are good collaboration skills, the ability to work under different conditions, and a willingness to develop.

Description

The Intensive Care Unit is a specialist department for severely ill patients requiring constant monitoring, advanced treatment, and care. The unit is equipped with advanced medical technology for care in various life-threatening conditions. We care for both children and adults from all of the hospital's clinics. The unit also includes care places for postoperative monitoring after surgery for both inpatients and patients who go home the same day.

As a new employee, you will receive a thorough introduction to ensure you feel secure in your new workplace. As an assistant nurse, you will work at the top of your competence and be offered an interesting job where you develop in your role and gradually take on more responsibility for the advanced care of an intensive care patient.

In 2023, the ICU pre-post-op has moved into new premises designed to meet the future needs of intensive care and postoperative care for our citizens!

Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse, you are responsible for the patient's general care and participate in the medical work under the guidance of a doctor or nurse in the care team. The ICU-Postop operates around the clock, which means working shifts during the day, evening, and night.

Qualifications

You who are applying have relevant assistant nurse education, preferably with a focus on emergency care or specialist assistant nurse training in surgery, anesthesia, and intensive care. Experience in intensive care work is an advantage.

Your personal qualities are important, and we are looking for someone who is positive and engaged. You should have good collaboration skills as we work in teams around the patient, as well as a good ability to handle stressful situations. We will place great emphasis on previous experiences and personal suitability.
