This is your mission

As a data scientist at the Security Police, you will work to make AI and data science accessible to the entire agency. You will work from a scientific approach using data science and AI techniques alongside other system developers and experts within the Security Police. Together, you will create technology that helps find new perspectives and connections in the operational work within the Security Police's core areas: counter-espionage, constitutional protection, counter-terrorism, personal protection, and security protection.

An important part of the mission is to work on the development of a data platform, where data from various sources is stored and analyzed using the latest data management and AI techniques. Since variation and new questions are part of everyday life, there is a strong focus on continuously developing methods, processes, and tools. By being a good ambassador for AI and data science, you are also someone your colleagues can turn to with their questions in the field.

Your placement is at the headquarters in Solna. The work is performed on-site, which means you cannot work remotely. Travel within and outside Sweden may occur.

These are the qualifications we are looking for

Only those who meet the following requirements will be considered for the position.

Requirements:

• Academic education in computer science, data science, mathematics, linguistics, statistics, or equivalent education that the Security Police deems comparable
• Very good and current experience working with large datasets and advanced analysis
• At least five years of experience in data science and AI
• Excellent ability to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written

The position requires Swedish citizenship.

You who apply may also have skills that add breadth and complementary perspectives. If you can contribute with one or more of the following, it is meritorious:

• Good experience working with both structured and unstructured data
• Academic degree or doctorate in areas deemed relevant by the Security Police
• Experience applying data science techniques across various modalities and domains, some of which are particularly interesting: language technology, image, sound, video, geodata, finance, telecom, IT forensics, or other data related to intelligence analysis
• Good technical competence combined with the ability to understand AI from a legal, user-centered, and/or security perspective
• Good knowledge of system development, machine learning, algorithm development, or data visualization
• Experience working with large language models and multimodal models
• Experience working with AI models in production systems
