Do you want to help build the future data platform for Stockholm residents?
Do you have both technical sharpness and an eye for the needs of the business – and want to take full responsibility from architecture to delivery? Then this could be your next challenge with us at Länsförsäkringar Stockholm!
About the job
We are embarking on an exciting journey to modernize our data platform and transition from our current SQL Server-based data warehouse to cloud solutions in Azure. Over the next year, we will implement Microsoft Fabric or Databricks – and are now looking for someone who wants to both maintain our existing solution and drive the migration towards the next generation data and analytics platform.
You will be a key person in our local development team, where we create solutions specifically for LF Stockholm and complement the shared deliveries from LFAB. We are a dedicated team where you will have a significant opportunity to influence architecture, tool choices, and working methods.
Your mission
- Maintain and further develop our data warehouse in SQL Server (TSQL, ETL/ELT, SSIS, scheduled jobs, performance improvements)
- Design and build target architecture in Azure together with IT and the business – focusing on Fabric Lakehouse/Data Factory or Databricks (Delta Lake, notebooks, jobs)
- Migrate pipelines from SSIS/scripts to Fabric Data Factory/Synapse Pipelines or Databricks Workflows
- Model data for reporting and self-service
- Ensure quality and governance: version control (Git), code review, testing/data quality, documentation, and CI/CD for data flows
- Collaborate closely with the business: understand requirements, prioritize backlog, and deliver insights (Power BI/SQL views)
- Create simpler reports in Power BI
- Guide and educate colleagues on the platform and working methods – we plan targeted training initiatives during the journey
We are looking for someone who
We believe you have a genuine interest in both technology and business value, and that you enjoy taking responsibility from needs to production. You are structured, collaborative, and pedagogical – and enjoy making others better.
Requirements:
- 2–5+ years of experience in ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing
- Very good SQL/TSQL and experience with SQL Server (preferably SSIS/SQL Agent)
- Experience with Azure Data Platform (e.g., Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS) or Databricks (PySpark/SQL, Delta Lake)
- Good understanding of data governance (quality, lineage, permissions) and version control (Git)
- Communicative in Swedish and English, and enjoy a role with both hands-on and architecture-related tasks
Meritorious:
- PySpark/Python, dbt, CI/CD for data (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions)
- Experience with Power BI (models, DAX) and performance tuning
- Data Vault 2.0, advanced dimensional modeling
- Experience migrating from on-prem to Azure and/or choosing between Fabric and Databricks
- Experience with VB.NET
Personal qualities
- Structured and reliable – you take ownership from needs to production
- Collaborative and pedagogical – you make others better
- Curious and pragmatic – you choose the right solution for the need, not the other way around
We offer
With us, you will get:
- Significant influence on architecture, tool choices, and working methods in a modern cloud journey
- Competence development and planned training initiatives as part of the transition
- Hybrid setup, engaged colleagues, and a daily life close to the business's decisions
- Placement at our modern office at Valhallavägen 215, Stockholm, with the opportunity to work remotely several days a week
