Academic Children's Hospital
Small hearts need great care! We are a small hospital in the big world, and it is precisely in the small that our greatness lies. Here, all the expertise a sick child may need is available, along with good collaboration, respect, and care. We offer a really good introduction for newcomers and many interesting opportunities for development. There is also unexpectedly much joy in what can sometimes be very difficult. We take care of the children and their families, and we take care of each other – because we know we do a much better job together!
Our Operations
The Academic Children's Hospital is a workplace with high satisfaction and skilled employees. Within the children's hospital, several different sections are included, such as neurology, surgery, oncology, and specialized pediatrics. The paramedicine section consists, in addition to speech therapists, of occupational therapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, social workers, psychologists, and special educators. The operations include planned and emergency services for county, national, and regional patients.
The speech therapists at the children's hospital work both in inpatient and outpatient care and are part of the Folke Bernadotte neurorehabilitation team. Work in inpatient care involves interventions in neurology, medicine, and oncology wards. Outpatient care is linked to the children's hospital's various outpatient services such as neonatal, neurology, cardiology, and gastroenterology clinics. In the Folke Bernadotte neurorehabilitation team, assessment and rehabilitation of children with acquired brain injury, epilepsy, or other neurologically caused difficulties takes place.
Your Mission
We are looking for a speech therapist to work with children and adolescents aged 0–18 years who have eating and swallowing difficulties or speech, language, and communication difficulties. You will assess and treat children who have trouble eating or who have acquired speech and language difficulties, both in outpatient and inpatient care. The work is largely characterized by interventions for children with eating difficulties, and you will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals such as dietitians, doctors, and nurses.
Your Qualifications
You are a licensed speech therapist and are interested in the field. Experience in working with dysphagia and eating difficulties, hospital care, as well as language and communication assessments is an advantage. You need to have an interest in teamwork. Within the position, there are certain opportunities to further broaden your competence through supervision and courses.
Since the speech therapists' mission at the children's hospital is under development, you need to be motivated to take your own initiatives and develop the operations. You should have good collaboration skills and be flexible as the work involves contact with many different people and professions. It is also important that you can establish good relationships with our patients and their relatives. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
We Offer
A full-time position with permanent employment. Comfortable working hours with flexible time. Start date according to agreement. With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/)).
