Within the Care and Social Services Administration, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. You will meet the individual needs of the persons and ensure they have a good everyday life and feel safe. There are several different operations throughout Uppsala, both centrally and in rural areas.

Your Tasks

Your tasks involve a daily routine filled with varied tasks based on what the specific user needs and where you work. In all our operations, you will have a meaningful job where you can make a real difference. You can read more about our operations below:

Elderly Care

In a care and nursing home, you create security and community for the residents. Your work makes their everyday life both meaningful and pleasant.

Home Care

In home care, you support the elderly to live an independent life in their own home. You travel between users' homes using a bicycle or car. Here, you will have a social and varied daily life based on what the specific user needs.

Short-Term Care

In short-term care, you provide support to the elderly during a transition period while their future needs are being assessed. The work is varied and significant.

Day Activities

The day activities offer social community and activities for people over 65 years old with a dementia diagnosis, who have had a stroke, or need physical training. Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • is over 18 years old
  • has graduated from or is currently attending high school or equivalent adult education
  • has good knowledge of Swedish in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension
  • is comfortable with digital tools such as computers, smartphones, and tablets.

It is an advantage if you:

  • are educated or are in the process of getting educated in fields such as care and social services or other relevant areas
  • have experience working with people
  • in some operations, you need to have a B driver's license
  • in some operations, you need to be able to cycle in all weather conditions.

As a person, you are:

  • good at collaborating
  • able to adapt when things change
  • empathetic
  • energetic and engaged in your work.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected title. To use the title of nursing assistant, you must provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. Those with nursing assistant training but lacking proof or a certificate may temporarily hold the title of care assistant. We will request a criminal record extract before employment can be offered.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
