The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-hem Östfora in Järlåsa, northwest of Uppsala, receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse, in combination with mental health issues. We have special expertise in medical care and are tasked with providing care for clients with specific care needs.

Then the position as a nurse with us at SiS LVM-hem Östfora could be a meaningful challenge.

A temporary position as a nurse suits you who see a positive challenge in caring for people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. A working day with us includes everything from supportive conversations to acute interventions - always with the clients' best interests in focus.

As a nurse, you have the medical responsibility for the clients. You are also the responsible nurse for patients and work closely with your colleagues, both nurses and other treatment staff. You also collaborate with social services and other healthcare providers. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need.

Documentation is also an important part of your work, and you document according to HSL and SOL. We use the journal systems TakeCare and KAJ.

Working Hours:

The working hours are weekdays and weekends - day shifts 07.00-15.30, mid shifts 09.00-17.30, and evening shifts 13:00-21.30.

Introduction:

As a new employee, you will undergo an introductory training that combines theory with practice. The training prepares you for your new role in SiS operations. A prerequisite for employment is that you can participate in the introductory training.

Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse and have experience working in that capacity.

You should also have:

  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
  • A valid B driver's license.
  • Access to a car.

Experience in the following areas is advantageous:

  • Somatic and psychiatric care.
  • Substance abuse and addiction care.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment:

The position is a temporary summer job of 50-100% according to your wishes.
