What will you work with?

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the development of follow-up and public health reporting. In this role, you will work with the agency's comprehensive follow-up system for good and equitable health, as well as in the implementation of government assignments related to follow-up and evaluation within the public health policy area.

The unit for public health reporting and evaluation is also responsible for conveying target group-adapted knowledge within its area of responsibility through various channels. Your assignment includes creating knowledge and insights that guide work towards health on equal terms – and conveying these in a target group-adapted manner through various channels, to ensure that knowledge reaches the right target groups and contributes to concrete actions.

Additionally, other tasks as an investigator at the agency include preparing decision-making materials, handling referrals, and collaborating with both internal and external actors to drive issues forward.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for the position:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study, such as epidemiology or public health science.
  • At least five years of experience from a government agency in analysis and investigative work within the public health field.
  • Several years of experience in compiling and interpreting data from various sources necessary for the work on follow-up of the national public health policy.

Great emphasis is placed on:

  • Documented analytical ability, experience in independently compiling and interpreting data, preferably with a focus on population health.
  • Experience and good knowledge of follow-up and evaluation within the public health field.
  • Personal qualities such as good collaboration skills, being responsible and exercising self-leadership, being curious about new working methods, and having a good attitude. You easily adopt a holistic perspective.

Great emphasis is placed on:

  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

What does the unit do?

The unit for public health reporting and evaluation is responsible for following up the public health policy goal and its target areas. We report on the development of health and the factors affecting health, both in the population as a whole and in various population groups. The unit handles several larger government assignments focusing on follow-up and evaluation.

Within the unit, there is the agency's internal evaluation support that works to ensure that the agency's evaluations contribute to increased knowledge about interventions and effects in the work for good and equitable public health.

About the employment

You will be employed as an investigator based at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date will be as soon as possible by agreement.

As an employee at the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be placed in a war position. Certain positions are classified where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. A security review will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the agency, there may be an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
