About the Urban Planning Administration

As an employee of the Urban Planning Administration in Vaxholm, you influence the development of an attractive archipelago municipality. Together, we are responsible for everything within the urban planning area, for example, by operating libraries, sports facilities, maintaining streets, building new schools, ensuring that the municipal outdoor baths function well, planning for new residential areas, granting building permits for new homes, and working for better public transport. About the role as Operations Manager for Sports and Leisure

The Urban Planning Administration's execution area consists of three units. As Operations Manager, you will be an important part of the Public Space unit, where you work together with six engaged colleagues responsible for streets, parks, traffic, and other public environments. You report directly to the unit manager for Public Space.

In this role, you have overall operational responsibility that includes planning, operational and investment budgets, as well as contract follow-up. You are responsible for several central areas that contribute to an active and pleasant Vaxholm:

• Sports and facilities: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the city's sports facilities as well as scheduling and bookings.
• Outdoor life and recreation: Management of exercise tracks, trails, ice rinks, ski tracks, and bathing areas.
• Associative life: Responsible for association grants and as system administrator for the city's booking and grant system, as well as close collaboration with sports organizations and special federations.
• Boat places and harbor: Operation, maintenance, and rental of municipal boat places.
• Public facilities: Responsible for the municipality's public convenience facilities.

In addition to the overall responsibility, you work operationally with follow-up and have close dialogue with residents, businesses, and associations. You also have an important role as a subject matter expert in the city's various urban planning projects, where you review and respond to referrals within your area of responsibility.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of Operations Manager, we are looking for someone who has a good balance between technical understanding, financial thinking, and the ability to build good relationships.

Requirements:

• Relevant education: You have a higher education that is suitable for the position, or you have acquired equivalent knowledge through solid work experience that we assess as equivalent.
• Experience with facilities and contracts: You have previously worked with contractor agreements in the operation and maintenance of facilities and are well acquainted with and have experience of LOU (Public Procurement Act).
• Background in sports and leisure: You have practical experience in driving and working with issues related to sports and leisure activities.
• Financial competence: You have experience and understanding of budget responsibility and financial follow-up.
• Driving license B: Since travel within the municipality occurs, a B driver's license is a requirement (a car is available for use in the position).

Meritorious:

• Experience with issues regarding the operation and maintenance of small boat harbors.
• Familiarity with collaboration with the sports movement, associations, and various special federations.
• Experience working in a politically governed organization.
