Preventive Parent Supporter at Sollentuna Municipality

The Social Office in Sollentuna Municipality has a well-developed preventive work that we are proud of and continue to develop.

Sollentuna Parent Support is part of the Social Office's department for children and youth and is responsible for providing preventive parent support and consultative support to educators in collaboration. Parent support is offered both in groups and individually. The unit creates conditions for early detection and promotion of psychosocial health and contributes to creating good and safe growing conditions for children and youth in Sollentuna.

About the Organization

The unit's work is primarily aimed at parents, from pregnancy until the child turns 18 years old. We provide consultative support to educators in preschools and schools, as well as to other actors working towards the same target group. We continuously work to develop new collaborative pathways to reach parents.

The unit expanded its operations last September with the Family Room, a service aimed at parents with children aged 6-12 years. This initiative aligns with the new social services act, increasing accessibility to parent support and other preventive measures in an at-risk area. The unit also faces more exciting areas for development.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of preventive parent supporter, you will receive parents who seek our help, on recommendation or together with other actors. Your role also includes being a consultative support to educators in preschools and schools. Another part of the assignment is to work outwardly to spread information about the organization. The tasks are many and varied.

Evening work is a natural part of the position.

Qualifications

You have a degree in social work or another equivalent higher education.

Experience in operations that require collaboration with multiple parties.

Experience in parent support work, work at family centers, and/or work with children aged 0–6 years is an advantage. Multicultural competence and experience working in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas are also merits.

We are looking for someone who is relationship-building, self-driven, and flexible. You should be able to plan and structure your work. We also place great importance on your initiative and being motivated to independently drive activities in the organization. You need to enjoy collaborating with other actors and colleagues, as this is a significant part of your role.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
