Social Workers for Vallentuna Municipality

Do you have the courage to lead and create a Vallentuna where people and ideas thrive? Do you want to make a difference for children in need of care outside their own home? We are now looking for two experienced social workers who, together with dedicated colleagues, will develop the work to make a difference for children and young people in Vallentuna.

Vallentuna Municipality has the courage to lead. Our ambition is to be at the forefront when it comes to innovative solutions, smart working methods, and an efficient organization. As an employee, you play an important role in the development work. The municipality as a workplace is characterized by an understanding between politics and operations, where the common interest and responsibility for the best of Vallentuna shines through. Reception, accessibility, and customer focus are important in our work for good results and increased quality.

Engagement, collaboration, and equal value for all should permeate our organization. You who are applying should of course share our common values.

About the operation:

The Child and Family Unit consists of dedicated employees, most of whom have many years of experience working with the target group. We have close managerial support, share responsibility, and help each other. The vision for the Child and Family Unit is to become the best at collaboration and to increase knowledge about social services' work among residents and partners.

The unit consists of a reception, a children's group, and a youth group that investigates and follows up on interventions. We are now looking for two social workers for the children and young people placed in foster homes. One position is located in the children's group working with children aged 0 to 12 years, and one position in the youth group working with children and young people aged 13 to 20 years. The unit includes four specialist social workers whose tasks include supporting complex cases and working with method development. The specialist social workers also offer BBIC daily support every week as part of professional development. As a social worker, you also have close cooperation with the department's internal open care, which is well developed and works flexibly based on assignments from social workers.

As part of safeguarding the balance between work and leisure, we have chosen to offer the possibility of some remote work. On Mondays, we have evening hours until 6:30 PM, which means we finish at 3:00 PM on Fridays. The day before a public holiday is a half-day, and we have low staffing on bridge days. We offer flexible working hours, external supervision, the possibility of vacation exchange, wellness grants or wellness hours, and free employee parking. The social services department is affiliated with the Career Journey and thus offers regular professional development.

The workplace is centrally located in Vallentuna, a stone's throw from the Roslagsbanan and several bus lines. With the Roslagsbanan, you can reach Östra station in about 30 minutes. The municipal office is new and modern, with opportunities for close collaboration with other units and departments.

Job Responsibilities:

We are now looking for you who, together with dedicated colleagues, want to work to ensure that placed children and young people receive the best possible care. Through our mission, we shall ensure that the care is qualitative and legally secure and that the children/youth who are placed have the same opportunities as all children.

The social worker for placed children and youth collaborates with the unit's foster care secretary. Together with two specialist social workers, you form a team that meets with responsible group leaders every week. Contact secretaries also participate in these meetings. The purpose is to ensure good foster care and highlight areas for development. For example, we have started working with schoolSAMS together with the Child and Education Administration. You actively work with follow-ups through child conversations and home visits and are responsible for considerations, reassessments, and investigations. You are also a support in placement-related matters. The role includes regular contact with the child's own network as well as with school and other professional contacts.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in social work is required to work with the target group.
  • Many years of experience in authority exercise regarding placed children.
  • Driving license B
  • Very familiar with the laws governing the operation, especially SoL and LVU.
  • Very good documentation skills, preferably with experience of the operational system Treserva.
  • Very good knowledge of BBIC and preferably also within Signs of Safety and safety planning.
  • It is advantageous to have knowledge in investigating foster homes, according to the Kälvesten method or "a lasting relationship".

Personal qualities:

  • You work towards results, demonstrate reliability, and take responsibility for planning and following up on your work.
  • You strengthen relationships by helping others, collaborating, following rules and processes, and sharing information.
  • You develop, improve, seek solutions, learning, and knowledge on your own initiative.
  • You are the link, provide service, show loyalty outward and inward, and monitor the environment.
  • Common values are visible in your approach.
