Palliative care and Advanced Home Care (ASIH) are organizationally part of the management Near Care and Health within the area of mobile teams and specialized palliative care in southeastern Skåne in Region Skåne. The operation offers specialized palliative care focusing on alleviating symptoms, preventing suffering, and creating the best possible quality of life for patients with incurable or chronic illnesses, regardless of age or diagnosis.
Care can be provided as inpatient care, admission to ASIH, outpatient care, or in the home and in special accommodations. The goal is to offer safe, accessible, and high-quality care around the clock in close collaboration with the patient and their relatives.
Within the organization, there is also a palliative development center where joint training initiatives and clinical research studies are coordinated, creating good conditions for development, knowledge exchange, and deepening within palliative medicine.
We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, and medical secretaries. We also have a hospital chaplain linked to our operation. Teamwork is a central part of our operations, and we continuously strive to develop collaboration to create an attractive workplace where each profession contributes with its specific expertise.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a specialist physician with us, you will work with medical assessments and interventions within palliative care, both in our palliative care department and in the patient's home environment or in special accommodations. You will have an active role in planning, follow-up, and coordination of the patient's care together with other professionals in the team and in collaboration with other care providers.
Your assignment also includes contributing to the development and improvement work of the operation. You will have the opportunity to help shape the future of palliative care through a continuous focus on quality, patient safety, and a good working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a licensed physician with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you have specialist competence in a clinical specialty that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. It is an advantage if you are a specialist in palliative medicine. A valid B driver's license is required, as well as knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale.
Personal suitability, being part of our multiprofessional teams with good collaboration skills, is of utmost importance, and we expect you to have good professional knowledge, be confident in your medical role, and have a flexible approach. You have a holistic perspective and can see both the patient's and relatives' needs, while also being part of the multiprofessional team's discussions and assessments. Part of the work involves support and conversations, which is why you must be communicative and able to meet people at different stages of life.

The management Near Care and Health has existed since January 1, 2025. The management is responsible for grant-funded healthcare operations within near care. This includes, among other things, mobile teams and specialized palliative care, outpatient services within near care, emergency care within near care, 1177 by phone, and certain region-wide functions. Additionally, the management is responsible for the development and follow-up of the transition to near care in Region Skåne. The number of employees is expected to be around 1,000.
