Assignment Description

A larger organization within the public sector is seeking a Technical Tester for a delivery/system area responsible for information and support services. The area is mission-critical and technically complex, with many internal and external integrations, and is used for information supply to both internal systems and external organizations.

The assignment is linked to critical societal operations.

The delivery area is responsible for further developing services that manage general business information with multiple consumers, as well as making external data sources available internally to streamline and reduce duplicated functionality.

The service components are consumed by several business systems and are characterized by many integrations and system dependencies. The solutions largely lack user interfaces, which places high demands on technical understanding of how the whole works, both from a frontend and backend perspective. The work is conducted according to agile methodologies.

To succeed in this assignment, a very good ability to collaborate, drive, and initiative is required. You are expected to independently find out what is needed to perform the work in the best way. You are meticulous, analytical, and structured, have a holistic perspective, and are solution-oriented with a positive attitude.

As a Technical Tester, you are primarily responsible for testing functionality both with and without user interfaces and for developing automated tests. Test scenarios include both positive and negative tests in accordance with TDD and include both functional and non-functional requirements. Manual testing is also part of the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technically demanding manual tests and prepare test data
• Design and develop automated integration tests in JUnit
• Maintain and further develop test frameworks in a Java environment
• Prepare and adapt technical test environments for manual and automated tests
• Participate in the review and refinement of requirements and ensure test coverage and requirement traceability
• Communicate with internal and external parties regarding test data and test environments

Mandatory Requirements

At least 3 years of combined work experience in the last 6 years in:

• Test automation on Unix/Linux platforms (backend)
• Technical testing in system environments with many integrations
• Code-level testing of JavaEE systems/applications
• Test frameworks such as JUnit or similar
• Integration solutions and message brokers (e.g., JMS, XML/XSD, JSON)
• Development tools such as IntelliJ or Eclipse
• SQL databases
• Modern development and delivery processes (CI/CD, Git, Maven)

At least 2 years of combined work experience in the last 5 years in:

• Spring Boot
• Post-secondary education in Data/IT

Desirable Requirements

At least 2 years of combined work experience in:

• OpenShift
• Jenkins
• Testing of REST APIs
• Certification in the testing field
