The Property and Street Office is now looking for 2 street engineers to carry out design work in-house.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for two employees for the Mobility Department to support with design expertise and carry out internal design assignments from concept/feasibility study to completed facility. The main focus in this process is the preparation of tender documents for street and land contracts, investigation of feasibility in early stages, and preparation of calculations. The work involves supporting the project manager in contacts with both internal and external stakeholders, managing subcontractors, and participating in construction meetings during implementation.

1. Street Designer 1:

As a street designer equivalent to a technical responsible street/land consultant, you support the project manager with design and design expertise for land and street. You drive your own work independently and coordinate with other technical areas from idea to completed facility, ensuring that the project's intentions for public space are implemented, with a holistic perspective on Malmö's urban development.

2. Street Designer 2:

As a street designer equivalent to a street/land handler at a consulting company, you support the project manager with design of land and street. You drive your own work independently and collaborate with other technical areas from idea to completed facility, ensuring that the project's intentions for public space are implemented, with a holistic perspective on Malmö's urban development. This position also involves being the Property and Street Office's expertise to answer inquiries regarding new building heights received by the City Planning Office. The division of work is preliminarily split 50/50 between street designer and developing new building heights.

We believe that multiple perspectives lead to further progress in development work, which is why the design unit's working method is distinctly discussion-based. We also believe that development is a result of action. The unit is therefore jointly involved in the various stages of projects so that everyone can share in the experiences we create together.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a master's degree or engineering degree in road and water, civil engineering, or another education that we assess as equivalent for the position.

• For Street Designer 1, the following applies:

• At least 6 years of experience working as a street-land designer and preparing tender documents/building documents within land and construction projects.
• Good knowledge of AMA.
• Good knowledge of CAD.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Worked according to Malmö city's design guidelines Technical Handbook.
• Previous experience from municipal operations.
• Experience in utility and stormwater design.
• BAS-P.

• For Street Designer 2, the following applies:

• At least 3 years of experience working as a street-land designer and preparing tender documents/building documents within land and construction projects.
• Familiarity and knowledge of AMA.
• Good knowledge of CAD.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Worked according to Malmö city's design guidelines Technical Handbook.
• Previous experience from municipal operations, development processes, and new building maps.
• BAS-P.

To succeed in the role, high personal maturity with stability and good self-awareness is required, as well as the ability to distinguish between the personal and the professional. The role requires flexibility and good adaptability to changing assignments, as well as good collaboration skills with smooth and constructive communication. A structured approach with the ability to plan and organize effectively and meet deadlines is central. Furthermore, a clear holistic view is required, where understanding of one's own role is combined with consideration for the overall best of the organization in actions and decisions. Good knowledge of both spoken and written Swedish is a requirement.
