NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. Orthopedic Technology

Orthopedic technology is part of the orthopedic clinic and has its reception at NÄL but also has some operations at Uddevalla Hospital.

Our mission is to prescribe orthopedic technical aids based on high competence and quality to the patients in NU Healthcare's catchment area, to facilitate their daily lives and contribute to an increased quality of life. We place great emphasis on our work environment to be able to work safely and securely to maintain good health.

Our new premises are specially built according to our workflow. We have three grinding rooms where the equipment and ventilation are adapted to each material - carbon fiber, hard plastic, and thermoplastic. The workshop areas are planned according to function and which materials or chemicals will be used.

In NU Healthcare, orthopedic technology is part of several interdisciplinary teams, such as diabetes, pediatric rehabilitation, and prosthetic teams. We have a close collaboration with the three other orthopedic technical units within VGR.

About the position

We are looking for an orthopedic engineer for our operations at NÄL. We are a relatively small operation with a very good work climate and therefore have close collaboration across professional boundaries. Together, engineers and technicians discuss and develop the best solutions for patients.

As an orthopedic engineer with us, you will work broadly and get to try many types of orthopedic technical solutions within prosthetics, orthotics, and shoes. For us, it is important that you as a new employee get a good start at your workplace. In an idea-rich and creative work environment, you are given the opportunity to develop at your own pace and according to your own conditions. We welcome orthopedic engineering students in their final term of the OI program as applicants.

Qualifications

Licensed orthopedic engineer with approved license from the National Board of Health and Welfare.

You have an easy time creating and maintaining relationships with both patients and colleagues, a good ability to plan and meet delivery times, and you care about a good work climate and work environment. It is important that you can collaborate with other professionals in the unit as well as work independently.

We place great importance on personal suitability.
