Job Description
We are looking for professional hunters with a marine focus to work in the 8+ fjord area in the municipalities of Stenungssund, Kungälv, Orust, Tjörn, and Uddevalla.
The role is operational and involves the implementation of wildlife management measures in coastal environments.
You will work closely with coordinated professional hunters and be responsible for the practical execution of hunting, scaring, and other predation-reducing measures across the 8+ fjord area.
You will be a key person in a targeted government assignment regarding the field-based execution of a study on the reduction of seal and cormorant predation to benefit predatory fish. The work is conducted in close and ongoing collaboration with researchers at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, who are responsible for the scientific design and follow-up of the measures. The study is also conducted as a measure within the Marine and Water Authority's action program for the marine environment. The predation-reducing study will last for 5 years.
As a professional hunter, you will lead and participate in practical fieldwork, often by boat and under varying seasonal and weather conditions. You are responsible for ensuring that measures are carried out safely, systematically, and in accordance with hunting and animal ethics, following given instructions and permits. The role includes translating methodology and study design into practical fieldwork, as well as contributing to data collection, documentation, and quality assurance of implemented measures.
An important part of the assignment is to build and maintain local contacts, such as with hunting rights holders, landowners, local residents, and other stakeholders. The assignment includes work in areas where access to hunting rights is a prerequisite for implementation, which requires a good ability to work trust-building and long-term in collaboration with local interests.
The work also involves ongoing documentation, reporting, and participation in the development of scaring and plans for predation reduction.
The work entails flexible working hours and may, if necessary, include work outside regular office hours.
The employment is governed by the needs of the operation over a framework period of one year. This means that you will be offered work opportunities as needed. Each work opportunity is a separate employment that you have the right to accept or decline. You are therefore only employed on the days you have accepted work.
We are always developing our operations, and you need to be open to the possibility that your tasks may change over time.
