to apply for the job

We are looking for stable keepers for our breeding and breeding stables in the Herrljunga area.

As a stable keeper, you will be an important part of the process that leads to eggs being available for purchase in Sweden's grocery stores. Sweden is essentially self-sufficient in eggs.

As a stable keeper, you will take care of the animals, maintain the stable, and ensure that everything functions optimally. The job requires that you can work independently and have a good eye for animals, which means being observant of the animals' health, the climate in the stable, and ensuring that the animals have the best conditions every day. The animals always come first. It is also a great advantage if you are practically inclined, as small repairs may need to be made. You will work in a flexible group, which means we help each other in our various stables. You will work quite a bit alone in the stables, and there is support regarding animal knowledge and technology.

You must have at least a B driver's license and access to a car. At least a high school diploma, preferably with a focus on animals. Previous experience working with animals is an advantage. We work irregular hours and also every third weekend. Since some documentation and especially communication occurs, you need to have a good command of Swedish in both speech and writing.

You must not have poultry or reptiles due to the risk of infection.

Job responsibilities:

  • Check on the animals regularly every day, ensuring they have feed and water, monitoring their well-being, and assessing air quality, etc.
  • Keep the stable and common areas clean and tidy.
  • Prepare for the introduction of new animals and the removal of animals.
  • Fill in production data daily and complete checklists (they are in Swedish).
  • Contact technicians for faults and deficiencies.
  • Address minor faults and deficiencies.
  • Work in other stables as needed - we schedule so you know where to be.
  • Keep the area around the stables clean.
  • Assist with the introduction and loading of animals.
  • Be responsible for acting if something seems wrong with the animals.
  • In the breeding stable - take out and sort/pack eggs every day.
  • Report feed consumption.

Your profile:

  • High school education, preferably with a focus on animals.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English.
  • B driver's license and access to a car.
  • Advantageous to have a license for a loader.
  • Genuine interest in animals.
  • Meticulous and methodical.
  • Flexible and willing to help when colleagues need assistance.
  • Stable and reliable.
  • Have technical/mechanical understanding.

Other:

  • The work is scheduled - weekend work is included.
  • Collective agreement exists.
  • Shower and kitchen facilities are available in the stable.
