Nolhaga Farm is located in Nolhaga Park in central Alingsås. Nolhaga Farm belongs to the Public Meetings unit. We are involved in preserving Swedish native breeds and are open to the public, meaning the farm is accessible for visitors. The park attracts many visitors year-round and the farm is a popular destination for many families around Alingsås.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an animal caretaker at Nolhaga Farm, you and your colleagues work to preserve Swedish native breeds according to an ongoing nationwide conservation effort. You will work primarily with animals, ranging from cows, sheep, goats, pigs to cats, rabbits, and chickens.

The role of a substitute animal caretaker includes everything from feeding, mucking out, carpentry work, cleaning, repairing various items, enrichment, keeping the park tidy, and ensuring that visitors feel welcome. Guided groups of children may occur.

The daily work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, and the tasks are physically demanding.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education in agriculture or animal care, such as a degree from an agricultural school or animal care training. You have experience working in similar operations which adds new knowledge and experience to our team. A driver's license (B) is a requirement for the position.

We expect you to be available on short notice.

We are looking for someone with good social skills as a large part of the job involves interacting with visitors. You have the ability to meet people in a welcoming manner and are service-oriented. To succeed in this role, you need to adapt easily to changing circumstances. You have the ability to quickly change your approach and see opportunities in changes. As a person, you enjoy taking initiative, starting activities, and ensuring results are achieved. We place great importance on personal suitability.
