Department of Computer and Systems Sciences
With over 200 employees and 4,500 students, the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) is a strong and dynamic research and education environment. SPIDER (the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions) is an independent center at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences, Stockholm University, focusing on the digitalization of international development cooperation. Job Responsibilities
The role of the research coordinator includes:
- Expertise in health registry systems, health information systems, and health data analysis, focusing on the digitalization of epidemiological information and patient data.
- Responsible research officer for capacity development in EU-funded projects, in collaboration with organizations to improve the use of patient data and digital health solutions.
- Develop course materials in various health areas.
- Be responsible for research activities within assigned projects.
- Manage bilateral collaborations with partner countries.
- Plan, administer, and evaluate the research components of the projects, including assessing potential new partnerships.
- Communicate research results at events and to various target groups.
- Follow up on budgets and report within research project collaborations, including responsibility for annual audits.
- Represent SPIDER at national and international events.
- Organize public events, lectures, and conferences to disseminate knowledge and promote collaboration.
Other tasks include working with overall budget planning and future vision for SPIDER. It is also desirable that you participate in our application preparation for other funding avenues. Furthermore, you will participate in the development of our thematic areas and, together with program managers, maintain close contacts with researchers and other important organizations in the field, both nationally and internationally. Additional tasks will be added in collaboration with program managers and are related to the unit's mission. Other administrative tasks within the center may occur. International business trips may be required.
Qualifications
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field, preferably health informatics, health information science, or a related subject, with strong scientific competence in development research.
- Solid knowledge of aid and development issues.
- Experience in writing and editing scientific texts.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in spoken and written Swedish and English.
- Experience in capacity development within public health systems.
Desirable
- A medical background is an advantage, as it enables the candidate to effectively communicate using medical terminology and drive health-oriented projects with a good understanding of medical contexts and requirements.
- Experience in administrative work at a higher education institution, preferably Stockholm University.
- Experience working in developing countries.
- Strong interest in global development issues and digitalization.
- Familiarity with the regulations of Stockholm University and Sida.
- Experience in managing finances, planning and executing events, and effective communication skills.
To succeed in the role of program manager at SPIDER, you need to be interested in aid issues and digital health technology. We see that you are meticulous and structured, with great integrity and diplomatic skills. Furthermore, you enjoy working with complex issues where you analyze and solve complicated problems. Personal suitability will be highly valued.
About the Employment
The position is 100% full-time and is a six-month temporary contract. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
