Job Responsibilities
Do you want to contribute to safe and efficient operations in Malmö city's school kitchens? We are looking for an engaged student employee who wants to take on an exciting and cost-effective assignment related to alarm management in our refrigeration and freezing facilities. An important part that supports the operation and food safety of the organization. The assignment involves developing a clear and quality-assured structure for how alarms are managed, from analysis to concrete improvement proposals.
About the Assignment
Currently, there is a need to review routines and costs associated with alarms in school kitchens. You will:
- Collaborate with other departments within the administration
- Map the current situation and analyze alarm costs
- Assess the need for alarm receivers and component replacements
- Develop proposals for standardized routines for alarm management and response
The work is carried out independently with support from colleagues within the school restaurant department and city properties. Methods used include data collection, document analysis, interviews, and comparisons.
Deliverables
Upon completion of the assignment, you will deliver a report with mapping, analysis, and recommendations as well as proposals for standardized routines. A presentation for the management team may be included.
As a student employee in Malmö city, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge alongside your studies with assignments within our operations. Qualifications
The student employee program is aimed at those who have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the assignment period.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a student in a relevant field, e.g.:
- Computer Science
- Industrial Economics
- Security Technology / Risk Management
- Property Management
- Energy and Environmental Technology
- Organization and Leadership
- Public Administration with a focus on operational management or quality
- Has an interest in analysis, security, technology, or business development
- Has a good ability to structure information and write reports
- Is self-driven and analytical
Meritorious:
- Experience in data analysis (preferably QlikSense or similar systems)
About the Workplace
The school restaurants are responsible for school meals in Malmö city's primary and secondary schools. We work to ensure that all students receive good, nutritious, and sustainable meals and that the meal is a natural part of the school's mission regarding health, sustainability, and learning.
The Service Administration is divided into five departments and offers everything from transport services to IT services and responding to citizens in Malmö city's contact center. We maintain streets, parks, green areas, and beaches, manage all buildings in Malmö city, and ensure that our school students receive good and nutritious food. Together, we are a smart service partner to the city.

Information about the Position
Employment Type: Temporary
Scope: Hourly paid. The assignment covers approximately 120 hours during the period of March-May 2026.
Working Hours: As a student employee, you will work approximately 10-15 hours per week during the day. The working hours are largely flexible. You will agree with your supervisor on working hours that can be combined with your studies.
