We are currently seeking an IT project manager for a government agency with a clear and important social mission, where the work makes a concrete difference for people every day. In the role of project manager, you will lead projects and initiatives focusing on business development and IT-related solutions. The projects range from smaller procurement and infrastructure-related initiatives to large and complex change programs linked to new EU common regulations and guidelines within the government sector. The project portfolio includes technology shifts, system development, process changes, and HR-related issues.

You will be responsible for planning, driving, and following up on projects according to an established project management model. This involves developing and implementing project plans, risk analyses, and budgets, ensuring that methods are followed, and reporting to steering groups, clients, and, if necessary, external financiers, such as EU funds. The role also includes feasibility studies, investigations, and the preparation of decision-making materials and reports.

In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with case officers, lawyers, business architects, change leaders, and IT specialists. Communication and anchoring in the organization are central, as is the ability to make complex issues understandable. In larger initiatives, you often work together with additional project managers, where roles with business and technical orientation complement each other.

You will become part of an already established project group where program leaders and resource owners are close at hand for support, both employees and consultants, with an unpretentious culture, good cohesion, and a habit of supporting each other in a complex and changing environment.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience.

• At least five years of current and documented experience as a project manager in IT-related projects.

• Experience working according to an established project management model, such as XLPM, PROPS, or equivalent.

• Experience with projects that have a clear focus on business development in larger or complex organizations.

• Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

• Swedish citizenship.

Experience from the public sector or other government agencies, as well as from consulting firms or larger private organizations with structured project management, is meritorious. Experience with procurement projects, project management for agile development teams, projects that are part of programs, applications for co-financing from EU funds, and experience in producing well-structured reports and decision-making materials for steering groups is valuable. Certification in project management is considered an asset.

As a person, you are analytical, structured, and used to working in complex environments with many stakeholders. You are proactive and motivating in your project management role and create engagement in the project group. You build relationships and collaborate across organizational boundaries, listen to different needs, and find solutions that work for the whole. You take responsibility for your projects and areas of responsibility, dare to take initiative, and thrive in a dynamic environment where conditions can change rapidly.

Salary: Fixed monthly salary

Extent: Full-time, permanent
