The Nephrology section, part of the Division of Medicine and the Medical Clinic in Mora, has a Nephrology Clinic that takes care of patients who need to see specialists in nephrology. Patients with kidney failure undergo regular check-ups. Patients receive information from the kidney failure coordinator before active uremic care (Transplantation or Dialysis). Investigations for transplantation and donation and regular check-ups of these patients are a brief summary of the Nephrology Clinic.

Within the Dialysis Clinic, there are:

• Self-dialysis unit PD-HD
• PD - Peritoneal dialysis patients who have dialysis at home, independently or assisted.
• Home-Hemodialysis who have hemodialysis at home independently.
• Self-HD patients manage their treatment independently but are at the Dialysis Clinic

HD patients receive their treatment fully assisted at the Dialysis Clinic. The HD patient is the one you will meet.

As a Nursing Assistant at the Hemodialysis Clinic, you will be part of a team with nurses and doctors. You will be responsible for and manage, together with colleagues, the care and prescribed treatment of dialysis patients. This means that you will combine care with medical technology. The care needs vary depending on the general condition of the dialysis patient, so the work can shift from monitoring to handling acute conditions. The majority of hemodialysis patients have chronic kidney disease, which means that a long-term relationship is established. Working with us means an independent, stimulating, and varied job where you are part of a team with patients and doctors.

You will be offered a tailored introduction of 8-10 weeks so that you feel secure in your tasks. There are good chances for a permanent position after the temporary assignment.

We are looking for someone who

• is a trained nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education
• has a diploma from the Health and Care College

Information about the job title

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in health and care.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those who are offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. Those who had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new rules came into effect on July 1, 2023, can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you need to have a certificate of protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.
