Falun and Falu Hospital both have their origins at the Falu Copper Mine. An emergency hospital for the acutely ill and injured with 12 beds was established at the mine as early as 1695. At that time, Falun was the second city in the kingdom. Falu Hospital is the county hospital of Dalarna with a catchment area of approximately 280,000 people and today plays a central role in Dalarna's specialist healthcare. The hospital has a good educational climate, several different clinics with a large patient base, and a well-developed and differentiated competence in both diagnostics and treatment.

BT is a clinical introduction service and a mandatory part of new specialist training. In Region Dalarna, a cohesive fixed-term employment is offered with the aim of also contributing to finding our future ST doctors and specialist colleagues. On-call duties during the acute care placement are carried out together with an experienced doctor and active backup support. In psychiatry, inpatient care is conducted in Säter and Falun, and outpatient care in Falun, Borlänge, or Ludvika. Primary care is conducted in Falun/Borlänge/Säter/Gagnef or in Västerbergslagen.

BT doctor to Falun - our future specialist

As we are looking for you who want to become our future specialist, we hope you have an interest in a more long-term collaboration and a desire to contribute to developing the operations together with us in Region Dalarna.

The position may often involve several work locations, and commuting by car may be required. Start in the autumn of 2026.

The position includes, in addition to a solid introduction, clinical work under supervision in general medicine, acute care, psychiatry, and possibly an additional clinical placement. A total of 12 months of service. The service plans for the blocks will be designed somewhat differently depending on the included clinical placements and work locations within Region Dalarna.

The work primarily consists of clinical work with continuous supervision and recurring structured competence assessments. In addition, there will be recurring training sessions aimed at achieving approved basic competence according to SoS regulations and the goal description for BT.

We are looking for someone who has obtained a Swedish medical license and who has not completed Swedish AT.

The positions require:

• Swedish personal identification number
• Attached high school diploma
• Good oral and written communication skills in Swedish, which will also be assessed in the selection process.
• Extract from the criminal record. For those requesting an extract from a country other than Sweden, the extract must be translated into Swedish or English.
• Driving license B
• Clinical experience from Swedish healthcare with good references is a requirement;

- Certificates and/or recommendation letters from previous healthcare-related jobs

- Contact details for at least two current references from healthcare-related jobs you have worked closely with
