The Citizen Administration in Värnamo consists of 6 sections, where foster care is part of the family law and foster care section.

The section is led by a unit manager and consists of 20 employees, distributed among the foster care group and the family law GGVV (Gislaved, Gnosjö, Vaggeryd, and Värnamo) as well as an “internal consultant.” In the foster care group, there are 10 social workers divided between 5 child monitors and 4 foster care secretaries, along with one position that is a combined child monitor and foster care secretary. The foster care group is led by a group leader.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a foster care secretary for the foster care group. The foster care secretaries are responsible for investigating foster homes and emergency homes, recruiting and investigating contact persons and contact families, matching task holders, and guiding the foster homes. You are also responsible for the financial matters of the foster home. The work as a foster care secretary involves regular contact with the foster homes you are responsible for. Through visits, digital meetings, and phone calls, you work to provide them with guidance and support so they can fulfill their mission and provide the best for the child during the placement. You work together with the child monitor to jointly plan what needs to happen. We investigate foster homes according to “A lasting relationship.” You need to be flexible regarding working hours as the job involves some travel.

The workgroup also includes child monitors who are responsible for the follow-up work with the placed children and contact with their parents and network.

All employees within the Citizen Administration are trained in Signs of Safety. This means that we work to ensure that children, families, and their networks are involved in how problems can be solved. Through the Signs of Safety approach and various tools, we can create better conditions for sustainable solutions for those we meet.

The work includes ongoing documentation. The Citizen Administration works in the operational system Combine.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent education that the employer considers equivalent to a degree in social work. You should have experience in the social services' authority operations, preferably directed towards children/youth. You have good knowledge of the social services' mission and current legislation. You must have good knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written, as well as good computer and documentation/investigation skills. It is an advantage if you have experience in foster care work. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability in terms of collaboration skills, commitment, orderliness, and interest in developing the operations.
