The Student Health Service at Jönköping University works with preventive and treatment healthcare for students.

Students who have difficulty managing their studies due to psychological, social, or other issues seek help from the Student Health Service. A student health team consisting of counselors and CBT therapists works preventively and therapeutically, both individually and in groups.

In the role of Counselor, you will work in a team towards jointly set goals, which requires you to be a person who thrives in that context. Your tasks include counseling and treatment of students both individually and in groups. The position includes participation in internal and external networks and projects. As a Counselor, you will be part of the university's crisis group for students. Course activities and lectures may occur.

To be considered for the position, we see that you have a degree in social work. You also have:

  • at least 2 years of experience in psychosocial work and an interest in working with short-term treatment
  • good verbal and written skills in both English and Swedish, as the work involves meetings with international students.

The Counselor position requires a colleague who wants to work in a team towards jointly set goals. We are looking for someone who is independent and driven. You are flexible, take responsibility, and are an outgoing person who enjoys working in a smaller team where respect for colleagues and clients is a given. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • experience working with the target group of young adults, for example, from high school or equivalent
  • CBT training
  • experience working with preventive measures/activities.
