Welcome to apply for the position of occupational therapist at the habilitation for movement disabilities. We are looking for someone who wants to develop with us and have a job that is both varied and stimulating. We offer a permanent full-time position starting by agreement. Our goal is a cohesive habilitation for equitable and patient-safe care of good quality. This means that, if necessary, parts of the working hours may be allocated to one of our other units. A probationary period may be applied.

Region Uppsala and Close Care and Health invest in secure employment and good benefits through our collective agreement, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/)).

Your mission

As an occupational therapist with us, you will be part of a cross-professional unit with an important role in the team-based treatment and assessment work. The unit consists of several occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, social workers, and special educators. You will work with patients of all ages and meet children, adolescents, and adults with cerebral palsy, neuromuscular diseases, spina bifida, multiple disabilities, and acquired brain injury.

Your tasks include analyzing, mapping/assessing, treating, and providing advice and support to increase the ability to participate in activities based on individual needs. The tasks also include testing and prescribing cognitive aids and aids for physical disabilities.

A large and important part of the work involves providing guidance, education, and information to the individuals themselves, relatives, and networks. It also includes collaborating with other operations in the private and public sectors. We regularly collaborate with the Academic Hospital regarding hand and orthosis reception, and you as an occupational therapist will be part of that collaboration.

As we are a specialist operation, we are very careful that our staff receives the right training, knowledge, and opportunities for skill enhancement so that you as staff can feel secure in being able to perform the interventions that the operation offers.

Your competence

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist. The work requires that you have knowledge of aids and cognitive support. Experience and knowledge in hand function and hand rehabilitation as well as experience working with people with disabilities are meritorious but not a requirement. Opportunities for skill enhancement in these areas are available.

You must be able to work independently but also have good teamwork skills, as the work, in addition to collaboration in the cross-professional team, also includes many contact points outside your own operation.

As a person, you are clear in your communication and structured in your working method. You have good organizational skills and can plan your work independently. You are attentive, have good pedagogical ability, and are good at motivating others. It is important that you can easily establish contact with both patients, relatives, and colleagues. We place great importance on personal suitability.

We work to create conditions for independence and an active life through developing, supportive, and compensatory interventions. Our cross-professional teams are located in Enköping, Tierp, Uppsala, and Östhammar.

The operation is characterized by development and an evidence-based approach, and you will have a stimulating and varied job. Competence development and experience exchange occur continuously within the habilitation's own operations. Each profession also has regular meetings to ensure equivalent competence and thus equal care within the county's various units. All new employees have a personal mentor during the first year.
