Our Operations

The Licensing area works in several ways to ensure that appropriate medicines reach the patient. Approvals of new medicines and new indications, as well as safety monitoring of approved products, are central parts of our mission, as is advising on drug development and providing information about medicines. The area has about 300 employees and consists of several units, where we who work in the Effect and Safety (ES) unit assess documentation regarding the effectiveness and safety of medicines. The investigations and recommendations we make form the basis for decisions on whether a medicine should be approved for clinical use. We collaborate with other EU member states in the investigation work and actively contribute to committees and working groups within the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Your Responsibilities

You will work with the assessment of veterinary medicines' safety and effectiveness for different animal species. The work has both a national and international character and is multifaceted. We can offer interesting tasks with good opportunities for professional development in a stimulating and knowledge-intensive environment. Your main task is to assess clinical studies intended to support the safety and effectiveness of veterinary medicines prior to approval. You may also evaluate license applications, clinical trials, report adverse drug reactions, prepare drug information, and participate in quality assurance of assessments of both veterinary and human medicines. The work is varied, independent, responsible, and often challenging. You will receive introductory training and a mentor to create the best conditions for entering the role.

Your Background

We are looking for a veterinarian with experience in both clinical practice and research. Experience in drug development or work at the EU level is an advantage. You have a good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English and have very good skills in English regarding written communication within the natural sciences/medical field.

It is crucial that you have a good ability to overview, break down, and compile large amounts of information, see connections, and draw logical conclusions based on scientific principles and express this in writing within established time frames. You have a good ability to independently initiate, plan, execute, and complete your commitments in a trustworthy and responsible manner. You enjoy working in a team and with a responsive, open, and unpretentious attitude, you contribute to a trusting and productive work climate in the group. You have good social skills, want to develop, and be developed. Personal suitability is highly valued.
