Our Operations

Here in the anesthesia and surgical department ing 95-96, we operate within the specialties of gynecology, obstetrics, urology, endocrine, and colorectal surgery. The procedures vary in time and scope. If you enjoy changing tempos, this is the workplace for you! We perform elective surgeries from Monday to Friday, alongside a flow of emergency surgeries that run at all hours of the day. During on-call hours, we have a shared on-call line where anesthesia collaborates with other units.

The department consists of seven operating rooms, one of which is allocated to the access clinic and one is located in the delivery ward. Additionally, we have a postoperative and, to some extent, day surgery operation. We strive for teamwork in the operating room where we utilize each other's professional expertise. The entire team in the operating room takes joint responsibility for effective and patient-safe care of the patient.

We are currently in an exciting phase as we are gradually renovating our operating rooms. The operating rooms and all staff areas have windows that provide daylight and a classic view of Uppsala. We are looking for someone who wants to help us develop our operations. The work is varied, and there are good opportunities for professional development.

Your Mission

As an anesthesia nurse with us, you will work with various forms of anesthesia. Mask ventilation, laryngeal mask, and intubation are combined with inhalation anesthesia or TCI. EDA and spinal anesthesia are common. You will be part of a team that supports and helps each other while also working independently. Together with colleagues in the operating room and our postoperative department, you will be an important cog in the operation.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a specialist nursing degree in anesthesia care. Previous experience is considered an advantage.

We Offer

We offer a permanent position as an anesthesia nurse with a start date according to agreement. We apply individualized onboarding. During the first six months, you will work daytime (Mon-Fri) to settle into your role as an anesthesia nurse. After that, you will begin on-call training where we share on-call lines with pediatric, ear/plastic, and neuroanesthesia. You will receive an individual introduction tailored to your previous experiences across all units. We offer continuous professional development in close collaboration with the educational unit of the operational area.
