Our Operations

At the psychiatry department 4A, we provide round-the-clock care for patients over 18 years old. The department consists of eleven care places and has several different treatment assignments focusing on addiction and psychiatric comorbidity. Patients come to the department via the emergency department for adult psychiatry or planned through psychiatric outpatient clinics. At psychiatry department 4A, doctors, nurses, caregivers, clinical pharmacists, and social workers work together. To ensure that patients receive good care, we collaborate and consult with other psychiatric specialists based on the individual needs of the patients.

The operation belongs to the section for addiction and neuropsychiatry, a cutting-edge section. We work based on evidence-based methods and place great emphasis on care development and research. All staff have access to supervision, and we actively work to improve the working environment for our staff. We have a targeted improvement effort in patient care and are keen to involve relatives. The staff at 4A are open, positive, secure, and competent, making it easy for new staff to join the department.

Your Mission

As a nursing assistant in psychiatric round-the-clock care, you play an important role in the team working with the patient's recovery. In collaboration with colleagues from different professional categories, you participate in assessing and planning the individual patient's needs for support, care, and treatment. You work closely with the patient and collaborate with psychiatric outpatient care, other providers/community agencies, and relatives. In your tasks, in addition to the usual duties of a nursing assistant, i.e., care tasks where care planning for the patients you become a contact person for is included, you will also take samples, EKGs, blood pressure, and pulse.

Supervising students and new employees is a natural part of your duties. It is important that you have a genuine interest in working with people with psychiatric issues and that you want to help develop our operations.

Your Qualifications

It is a requirement that you have a degree as a nursing assistant or a degree as a caregiver from a nursing assistant/caregiver education that we assess as relevant.

You have a genuine interest in psychiatric care. As a person, we would like you to be positive, driven, engaged, flexible, and solution-oriented with the ability to prioritize among varying tasks in a changing environment, have an open view of humanity, and enjoy challenges. We also expect you to have a good service spirit towards both patients and colleagues as well as external actors. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Previous work experience in psychiatric round-the-clock care as well as experience in addiction care is not a requirement but is highly meritorious.

We Offer

Temporary full-time employment from 2026-02-23 to 2027-02-28. Working hours can be discussed. You may be scheduled for day and evening shifts with some weekend work. Prior to employment, extracts from suspicion and criminal records will be taken. A probationary period of six months may be applied.
