Our Operations
The specialized palliative care at Akademiska sjukhuset is conducted at the Palliative Center, which consists of the Department of Specialized Home Care (ASH), Specialized Palliative Care Ward (SPVA), Palliative Consultation Team (PKT), and Palliative Clinic. ASH is located in both Uppsala and Tierp (Norduppland) and has the mission to provide specialized palliative home care. The ASH team cares for patients with various diagnoses and ages, sometimes including children who need specialized palliative care in their own homes or in special accommodations.
The Position
The position is at the Palliative Center and will primarily be based in Norduppland, but there may also be duties in Uppsala.
Your Mission
As a nurse at ASH, you work in a multidisciplinary team with severely ill patients at home. You are primarily responsible for specific nursing care and specialized interventions such as advanced symptom relief with, for example, infusions, injections, medication pumps, spinal pain relief, various drains, and support for relatives.
Your Qualifications
You are a licensed nurse, preferably with a few years of experience. It is advantageous if you have further education in palliative care or experience in palliative care, but it is not a requirement. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. A B driver's license is a requirement. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement.
Your Competence
You can work independently, in a structured manner, and are flexible. We also appreciate that you have good collaboration skills, empathetic abilities, and that you are proactive.
We Offer
Permanent employment at 100%. Day/evening/weekend shifts, with the possibility of rotating to night shifts. Individual onboarding and mentorship as desired. Group supervision twice per semester and as needed. A 6-month probationary period may be applied.
