AT Physician at Västervik Hospital

Do you want to meet a wide range of medical conditions, work with simple and quick decision-making processes, and have more time for patients? We are the smaller hospital with most specialties.

As an AT physician with us, you will become a significant doctor from day one, and you will gradually be expected to take on greater responsibilities in a safe environment. You will partially work alone in primary on-call with doctors on-site and with good support from backup. In general medicine, you will work with good supervision at the well-functioning health centers. Hospital placement and psychiatric placement will be in Västervik. Primary care placement is located in Västervik, Gamleby, Ankarsrum, or one of our neighboring municipalities Vimmerby and Oskarshamn.

All clinics and health centers have structured educational plans focusing on clinical work. In addition to ongoing educational programs, there are training days in surgery-orthopedics-anesthesia, training days in emergency medicine, residential days in ethics and conversation methodology, training day in insurance medicine, and group supervision.

We offer an 18-month general service. We have four starts per year, with the autumn 2026 starts in September and December. A joint training week will be scheduled for early September, regardless of the employment start date.

About You

You are passionate about the medical profession and have a medical degree or a decision on eligibility from the National Board of Health and Welfare with good knowledge of the Swedish language. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
