Substitute Teachers Needed in Arboga Municipality

Arboga Municipality and the Department of Children and Education are in need of substitute teachers for primary and adapted primary schools to cover short-term absences of regular staff. There are six primary schools and one adapted primary school in Arboga Municipality.

Job Responsibilities

In the school, you will work either as a substitute teacher, providing extra support to students, or in after-school care. As a substitute teacher, you may work alone in a class, and there is a teaching plan to support you. You will also work to help students achieve their learning goals and create the best possible study environment. As extra support, you will work alongside teachers in the classroom and in after-school care, collaborating with a team before and after school hours.

You will work through the Staffing Unit and continuously update your availability in the Time Care Pool system to show when you can work. You will be booked for shifts via SMS and must be able to arrive at the workplace within a maximum of 45 minutes from the time the SMS booking is sent to you.

Qualifications

You have a high school diploma, are trained as a childcare worker, or have previous experience working in schools, preferably as a teacher student or considering studying to become a teacher. We welcome candidates with experience working with children, but it is not a requirement. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required. Approved SFI level D.

In our operations, the law on background checks (2000:873) applies. To work as a substitute teacher, you must present an approved extract from the criminal record. This can be ordered digitally through the School or Preschool e-service from the Police Authority and must be valid for work in preschool and school.
