The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland region and consist of four hospitals –

Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Welcome to the Pharmacy VGR SV
The Pharmacy VGR SV is part of the regional Pharmacy VGR and the unit within the hospitals in the west responsible for the administration's overall pharmaceutical work.

The unit's mission includes responsibility for pharmaceutical supply, support in medication management issues, monitoring, as well as quality and patient safety work, all in close collaboration with the operations. The unit's mission also includes supporting more care-oriented work on the wards and managing parts of the daily pharmaceutical work there.

The Pharmacy VGR SV is organizationally part of the Diagnostics and Services department along with units for Radiology and Medical Technology.

The pharmacy within the hospitals in the west works for all four hospitals within the administration but has operational assignments with staff on site at Kungälv Hospital, Alingsås Hospital, and Högsbo Local Hospital. The staff consists of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and nurses.

We are now in need of an additional pharmacy technician for our team to fulfill our mission in accordance with the needs of healthcare. The position is initially placed at Alingsås Hospital but may eventually also be at other hospitals within the administration.

Who are you?
We are looking for a licensed pharmacy technician, preferably with some years of professional experience.

As a person, you are open and service-oriented and have an easy time creating new contacts and good relationships. You are accustomed to and enjoy working independently while also having a good ability to collaborate. You are responsible, meticulous, and good at organizing and structuring your work. As we are an organization in constant development, it is important that you appreciate that tasks and working methods vary and change over time.

Experience working in healthcare and hospital pharmacy operations is an advantage. The work requires good IT skills.

With us, you will have exciting and stimulating tasks where you support the healthcare units in medication-related assignments in various ways. This may include ordering and unpacking medications, preparing antibiotics, packing medications for discharge, packing fluid carts, and ensuring that prescribed medications are available when the patient needs them.

Work at all hospitals within the administration may become relevant even though the main placement is initially at Alingsås Hospital. Currently, we only work daytime, weekdays. Weekend shifts and evening work may, however, become relevant in the long term.

Qualifications
Licensed pharmacy technician.
