Main Duties and Responsibilities

The educational clinics and specialist dental care in Gothenburg, located at Odontologen, constitute Folktandvården's university dental care. This means that as an employee, you actively participate in the basic training of dentists and dental hygienists, possibly contributing to dental research and being part of developing dental care in the entire region. Alongside the educational assignment, we provide regular general dental care for children and young people aged 0-19. The children's educational clinic, with around 22 employees, is characterized by commitment and continuous learning and offers a stimulating environment where knowledge and experience are utilized in the best way.

The clinical supervision/teaching of students is conducted in close collaboration with the Department of Odontology at the University of Gothenburg, where theoretical education and dental research are primarily conducted.

The teaching group consists of several teams with dental nurses, general dentists, dental hygienists, and specialists in pedodontics and orthodontics, all working together with the students. The dental nurses are highly appreciated and valuable, and an important part of the group, as reflected in the students' evaluations.

The position includes assistance and, in the longer term, supervision of dental and/or dental hygienist students, but also other regular dental nurse tasks such as patient work, sterilization, and reception may occur to varying degrees. Working with the students creates variety and challenge in the job, and our dental nurses get to utilize their skills, both in student work and in the treatment room. We have recently hired a new dentist and need to complement our team with a dental nurse. All regular supervisors receive training in pedagogy, and the goal is for all staff working clinically to receive nitrous oxide training, as it is part of our treatment arsenal. As a dental nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to further develop and be offered an educational plan to become a teaching dental nurse. A teaching dental nurse has expanded documented competence in pedagogy and other areas related to student activities.

Qualifications and Profile

• Qualified dental nurse with education from MYH (The Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education)
• Preferably experience in, but above all interest in, pediatric and adolescent dental care
• Interest in supervision and working in an inspiring environment together with students.
• Knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to Swedish high school or Swedish C1 in both spoken and written form
• Ability to independently manage administration
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and wisely
• Ability to give a stable and calm impression even when there is a lot to do
• Ability to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive manner

About the Recruitment Process

If you are not already employed with us, you will be contacted by a recruiter from the HR unit for an interview. After the application period ends, the clinic manager will select candidates and invite them for an interview at the clinic. These interviews are scheduled for weeks 7 and 8.
