Main tasks and responsibilities

The educational clinics and specialist dental care in Gothenburg, located at Odontologen, constitute Folktandvården's university dental care. This means that the clinic actively participates in the basic education of dentists and dental hygienists, contributes to dental research, and is part of developing dental care throughout the region.

The adult educational clinic, with just over 65 employees, is characterized by creativity, development, commitment, continuous learning, and offers a stimulating environment where knowledge and experience are utilized in the best way.

The teaching is primarily conducted in an integrated subject form in close collaboration with the Department of Odontology, where the theoretical education takes place.

The teaching staff consists of several teams with dental assistants, general dentists, dental hygienists, and specialists, all of whom together mentor students.

As a dental assistant with us, you will have the opportunity to develop and be offered a training plan to become a teaching dental assistant. All mentors have the opportunity to take a pedagogical training course that provides in-depth knowledge and understanding of mentoring. A teaching dental assistant has documented competence in pedagogy and mentoring.

We regularly have internal training in various subject areas to gain new knowledge and develop our competence.

We are flexible regarding the degree of employment and view positively the combination of a position with us and your own clinical practice, for example, within general dental care. (Combined position)

The position includes, among other things:

• Mentoring dental and dental hygiene students in clinical training
• Mentoring at the clinic for preparatory courses at our simulation clinic
• Regular dental assistant tasks such as own patient work at our Teacher Clinic
• Work in sterilization and reception may occur

Competence requirements and profile

• Trained dental assistant with education from MYH (The Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education)
• Interest in mentoring and a desire to work in an inspiring environment with students
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to Swedish high school or Swedish C1 in both spoken and written form
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and wisely
• Ability to give a stable and calm impression even when there is a lot to do
• Ability to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive manner
• Independently manage and support students in administrative tasks
• Contribute to the development of the organization by actively participating in the clinic's improvement work

We prefer that you have a couple of years of experience in the profession. You will receive a mentor with us and a tailored introduction program for our clinic.

About the recruitment process

The first step in the recruitment process is a digital interview with HR. After the application period ends, the clinic manager will select candidates and invite them for an interview at the clinic. These interviews are scheduled for week XX.
