Our 1800 employees work with close care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice over the phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we adapt our services based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.

Our operations
The Primary Care Unit in Östhammar has 12-18 care places and is located in the health center in the same building as the health center. The unit is run by the municipality with nursing assistants, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists working in teams. Region Uppsala staffs the unit with doctors.
The Primary Care Unit is a joint operation for the municipality and Region Uppsala, focusing on a form of intermediate care between inpatient care, municipal home care, and municipal care. We primarily care for elderly patients who need inpatient care but do not require the specialist resources of the hospital. Patients are admitted from the Mobile Care Team, health center, or emergency department.
