Reception for Special Care
Our 1800 employees work with close care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice over the phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we adapt our offerings based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.
Welcome to apply for the position of specialist nurse with us at the Reception for Special Care!
We offer a fixed-term employment for one year at 100% with good opportunities for future permanent employment. Start date as soon as possible. The closest team consists of a total of 5 people working as doctors, nurses, social workers, and medical secretaries. You will work daytime, Monday to Friday, with weekends and public holidays off.
You can easily reach Uppsala by train, bus, or car. We invest in secure employment and good benefit packages through our collective agreement, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
Your Mission
As a nurse, your tasks will include working at the newly established mobile low-threshold reception, where you will both drive the vehicle and conduct operations. As the operation is new, there are great opportunities to influence and develop your new workplace. You will have close collaboration with staff from the county's municipalities.
You will also be part of the existing reception in Uppsala, where your tasks will consist of reception work with triage and some administrative work. You will work independently with tasks such as wound dressings, treatments, medication administration, assessments, and actively participate in the syringe exchange program. You will also assist doctors practically. Sample collection is included in the position.
Your Competence
We are looking for a licensed nurse with relevant specialization (district, psychiatry, infection, emergency care) who has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have experience in addiction care. Since our operations are based on teamwork, you should enjoy working in a team. Respectful treatment is a top priority in our assignments, and we place great importance on personal suitability for the position.
A driver's license with B category is a requirement as we are now expanding with a mobile reception.
Our Operations
The operation opened in the autumn of 2016 and is located at the Academic Hospital in Uppsala and belongs to the management of Close Care and Health, Region Uppsala.
The reception includes a medical reception for the homeless in Uppsala as well as a syringe exchange program, which should be easily accessible and trust-building for people who need special health and infection control measures. We collaborate with social authorities, other authorities, and other healthcare neighbors. Within the group, there are people who often have multiple mental, somatic, addiction, or social problems. To provide the best possible care to our visitors, we actively work with continuous evaluation and development of the operation - all for their benefit. The operation is grant-funded. In the future, we aim to expand the operation with a low-threshold LARO unit.
