The Pediatric Surgery Section offers the opportunity to apply for study salary for nursing students T6 - pediatric surgery/pediatric neurology
Are you a nursing student interested in working in the pediatric surgery section after completing your education and graduating as a nurse? In ward 95B, we care for children in the following specialties: surgery, urology, orthopedics, hand surgery, spinal surgery, neurology, and neurosurgery.
We offer you, who are starting your 6th term in the nursing program this spring and choose to begin your career with us after completing your studies, the opportunity to apply for a study salary during your last term (term 6).
Grow into the role
As a newly graduated nurse with us, you will receive individual training for 6 weeks. Sometimes the leap between education and working life feels large, and to give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, during your first year with us at the Academic Hospital, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ).
KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for newly graduated nurses employed in Region Uppsala, aiming to sharpen your clinical skills, network with other recent graduates, and have reflection time with experienced nurses. You will be offered a meaningful and rewarding job, where you meet families in many different situations. You will be part of a team that supports and helps each other, while also working independently. As a new employee with us, you will receive a personalized introduction program. After that, our experienced clinical supervisors will be on hand to guide, follow up, and support you in your continued development.
Your qualifications
As a newly graduated nurse in ward 95B, you will work in a team with nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors, and you will also collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team at the children's hospital. There will be many laughs in a day spent with children and families.
The tasks are varied and include family-centered care for children. We place great focus on patient flow and patient contact. The workday consists of many meetings with our patients and their families, making the work both varied and challenging, with well-functioning teamwork always in focus for the patient's best interest. We have both planned and emergency admissions around the clock.
Your competence
You are a nursing student starting your 6th term this spring. You are interested in pediatric care and want to start your career with us in 95B, the pediatric surgery section at the Academic Children's Hospital. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious approach and possess good collaboration skills.
We offer
We offer you a permanent position as a nursing assistant during T6. Upon submission of your license, the position will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse.
You commit to working 12 months with us after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant during your studies, but it is not a requirement. Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with a duty obligation around the clock, known as rotational work.
