BI Developer at Region Västmanland

Do you want to work with decision support that makes a real difference for essential community services? Region Västmanland is strengthening the Decision Support and Integration unit and is looking for a BI Developer with an interest in databases, information flows, and the ability to concretize the needs of the organization together with operational resources.

Job Responsibilities

As a BI Developer, you will work alongside competent and engaged colleagues on the further development, management, and maintenance of Region Västmanland's decision support systems. The work involves participating in both management tasks and development assignments, as well as in various projects related to the organization's needs for follow-up and analysis. You will proactively work on the design, development, and implementation of BI solutions, where quality, performance, and sustainability are important starting points.

The role can be adapted based on your experience. For those with more experience, the work may involve greater responsibility in databases and technical management, while the role for those with less experience may have a clearer focus on development and learning within the BI field.

About the Workplace

The Digitalization Support Administration is Region Västmanland's digitalization organization tasked with delivering digital services and managing healthcare and operational systems. We work in a complex technical environment with high demands for quality, security, and sustainability, and with a clear focus on development, improvement, and innovation. The administration consists of seven units and about 150 employees who work together to support the region's operations.

The Decision Support and Integration unit consists of about 15 employees and is responsible for the region's data warehouse and integration platform. The region is in a development phase where the ambition is to become more information-driven in its decisions while utilizing new technology to streamline work. Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic background in systems science or equivalent documented knowledge, and who has experience working with MS SQL and ETL. You have knowledge of data modeling and experience in requirements management and testing during development and implementation. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you have experience working with BI solutions, integrations, and project work, as well as knowledge of or experience with ITIL and system management models, such as PM3. Previous experience working as a DBA, focusing on performance optimization and technical database management, is considered particularly meritorious.

We place great importance on personal qualities, and to succeed in the role, we see that you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks, while also having the ability to structure your work and drive issues forward. You take initiative and work goal- and result-oriented, with the ability to adapt when circumstances change. You collaborate well with others, are attentive in communication, and find it easy to create and maintain professional relationships. You enjoy working with complex issues and have analytical problem-solving skills.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment. Full-time, start date by agreement. Västerås. There is some opportunity for remote work in accordance with Region Västmanland's guidelines and when the business allows.
