What you will do
The Cyber Defense Center (CDC) Learning and Development Officer is responsible for leading skill development of Cyber Defense Center team members. The officer is driving a culture of continuous learning, improving team competency scoring, reducing time-to-proficiency, ensuring the organization is ready for the future.
This position will serve as a member of the CDC management team, collaborating with CDC leaders to understand their organizational goals and development plans for team members.
Main Responsibilities:
- Onboarding and Skill Baselines: Design and implement structured onboarding programs that establish consistent baseline competency across the team. Ensure proficiency in core tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, EDR, FTK) as well as alignment with associated workflows and operational processes.
- Continuous Skill Development: Track and manage team competency metrics, including skills matrices and time-to-proficiency. Identify gaps and plan, prioritize, and execute targeted training programs at both the individual and team levels to ensure sustained capability growth.
- Career Pathing: Establish structured, role-based career paths that support professional growth, retention, and succession planning for Analysts, Threat Hunters, Engineers, Forensic Analysts, Data Scientists, and related roles.
- Training Program Management: Managing relationships with internal training organizations, People and Culture Partners, and external vendors. Run internal training days, manage certification renewals, and track financials and return on investment on training.
- Manage relationships: Lead end-to-end training programs by partnering with internal training teams, People & Culture partners, and external vendors. Coordinate and deliver internal training days, manage certification renewals, and track training budgets, financials, and return on investment (ROI).

We, at Enterprise IT Security, are on a mission to secure the IT journey for the Volvo Group. We work closely together with stakeholders across several Business Areas (BAs), Truck Divisions (TDs), and Group Functions (GFs). While the BAs are responsible for driving the business, the TDs provide research, development, purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly. Within Volvo Group, the GFs own the Group agenda, provide strategic direction, and have global responsibility in group-wide functions such as IT, legal, compliance, and security.
With Enterprise IT Security, you will be part of Group Digital & IT (Group Function). Enterprise IT Security (EITS) works in close collaboration with both Group Security function and security functions within TD’s, BAs, and GFs.
