The neuropsychiatric team works with children and adolescents with autism and average intelligence from 7 years old until they finish high school. In the neuropsychiatric team, 6 psychologists, 5 social workers, 2 speech therapists, 6 occupational therapists, 6 special educators, doctors, team secretaries, and a unit manager collaborate. The team is divided into 2 working groups.

The child and adolescent habilitation offers support and treatment to children and adolescents with disabilities and their families and networks. Various professional roles collaborate within the team. We have social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, special educators, doctors, secretaries, unit managers, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. The child and adolescent habilitation is part of the Area of Close Care.

The work involves teamwork with interventions aimed at children and adolescents with autism and average intelligence, as well as their families. In the neuropsychiatric team, we focus on developing our individual interventions and group treatments according to evidence-based methods.

As an occupational therapist in the neuropsychiatric team, you will meet many children and adolescents, often together with their guardians. Your tasks will include assessing and treating the child's/adolescent's functional and activity abilities, including areas such as cognition and personal care. The aim is to provide a deeper understanding of what it means to live with autism and to collaboratively develop individualized strategies to manage daily life based on the current situation and personal abilities. The position also involves leading youth groups and conducting courses and lectures on various themes related to autism. Other tasks include collaboration with other stakeholders around the individual child and family.

As a new employee, you will have the opportunity to receive guidance both within your professional group and in the team. A mentor will be appointed to you as a newcomer. The position is aimed at the neuropsychiatric team, which operates across the county, but the placement is at the child habilitation in Örebro.

Licensed occupational therapist. Experience and interest in working with children and adolescents with autism are advantageous. Travel is included in the position, so a driver's license is required.
