Part-time Nurse
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. With us at SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
Job Description
At our organization, the heart is the most important thing. It is through the heart, a good approach, and your ability to see, hear, and create a life-changing transformation for our youth in matters of student health, general health, and medical issues that you help some of those who need it the most. Being a nurse at Granhult is very different, but also one of the most rewarding and fun jobs you will ever find. The workplace varies between reception work, counseling with youth, training of staff, student health, and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams. You work with young people who often have not had a positive experience with health care, or sometimes no experience at all. Additionally, you contribute to a stable everyday life, which is seen as part of their trauma treatment.
You will be responsible for medical consultations and medication management. Furthermore, you will be responsible for making your own health assessments and prioritizing the needs of the youth, educating and delegating parts of the medication management to relevant staff at the institution, and creating routines and structures that meet the requirements for the health care provided within SiS. In your work, you will document in the Take Care journal system and in SiS's own journal system KAJ. The position is varied and requires initiative but also offers great opportunities to create a unique operation where you have significant influence over your own work and the youth's understanding of themselves and their environment. You will work closely with our nurse based in Brotorp, other professionals at the institution, such as management and departmental staff, which requires good collaboration skills. You will mainly be based in our department Norrgården (formerly Granhult), Lindesberg but belong to the Bergsmansgården institution.
Qualifications
You see the whole picture in everything you do and choose the right strategies to achieve your goals in helping our youth with health and medical issues and student health. You are independent and flexible, which helps you succeed in a changing everyday life. Additionally, you are pedagogical and reach those who need it the most, even when it is sometimes difficult. Further keys to your success are the communicative skills and initiative you demonstrate both in collaborations with your colleagues and with the youth.
You should also have:
- License as a nurse.
- Experience in meeting people in vulnerable life situations.
- Driver's license (B) and access to your own car.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience from working in student health
- Experience in substance abuse care, psychiatry, emergency care, or similar.
At SiS, we care about good employee engagement. This means that you as an employee take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee engagement.
