Prison Service is Hiring Nurse for the Detention Center in Karlskrona

Prison Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The detention center in Karlskrona, which is a smaller facility, is located in central Karlskrona and housed in the police station. As an employee of the Prison Service, you have several benefits. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Prison Service conducts some open health and medical care, which means that all prisons and detention centers have medical clinics where inmates can seek care. In addition to nurses, there are general practitioners and psychiatrists at the clinics. As a nurse, you, together with your colleagues, have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, but you also assess which applicants should see a doctor. This means that you work with both somatic and psychiatric health and medical care for the inmates, assist during medical consultations, and administer medications primarily through dose dispensing. Documentation is done in the PMO patient data journal.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are quality-conscious and meticulous, and you have the ability to structure your approach and drive your processes forward.

Requirements:

• Licensed nurse
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• Driving license B

Meritorious:

• A relevant specialization or further education for the employer, such as in psychiatry, emergency care, district nursing, or outpatient care
• Work experience in the profession
• Relevant language skills
