About the Workplace

Östra Primärvården includes Region Blekinge's health centers, youth clinics, children's and adolescents' mental health services, wound center, Karlskrona Rehab Center, and Läkarbilen.

Residents of Blekinge who fall ill can turn directly to the health centers and access healthcare that does not require hospital resources. Care is provided in all cities of the county, in several smaller towns, and sometimes in homes. Our goal is to be a modern outpatient care facility where teamwork and patients' needs are at the center. Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a war position.

Wämö health center is a medium-sized public health center located on the hospital grounds in Karlskrona. There are excellent communication options as bus and train stations are directly adjacent. You can quickly reach Karlskrona Centrum by car or bus. Our facilities also include an emergency center on evenings and weekends.

Job Responsibilities

As a doctor at Wämö health center, you will work broadly within the field of general medicine with varying appointments, both urgent and planned, as well as home visits. We have approximately 7600 registered patients. Here you will find, among other things, a laboratory, child health care, nurse appointments, psychotherapists, diabetes clinic, asthma/COPD clinic, wound clinic, and rehab coordinator. The health center is also responsible for a special housing facility.

At Wämö health center, we have recently initiated team-based work to offer patients more continuous care, care at the right level, and to ensure that collaboration across professional boundaries is an important part for us.

You will also supervise students and training doctors, which we see as a very important task in our operations and part of the daily work. Great emphasis is placed on participating in continuing education activities, common for the entire county, about once a month. There is an opportunity to participate in FQ/Balint groups for personal continuing education.

Qualifications

You have a Swedish medical license with specialist competence in general medicine. You may be newly graduated or have long experience - however, it is an advantage if you have previous experience working in a health center.

You master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. You have a genuine interest in helping people and always work with the patient in focus. You are confident in your professional role and are a positive colleague who contributes to our good work environment. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills, initiative, and organizational skills.

Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a war position. Some of our positions are security classified where the employee must undergo a security clearance interview and background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). Applicants who are considered for employment must present an extract from the Police Authority's criminal record before employment.
