About Us
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a multidisciplinary specialist service that includes a family therapy, cognitive, psychodynamic, and neuropsychological understanding perspective.
Our task is to discover, investigate, and treat mental health issues in children and adolescents under 18 years and their families.
About the Job
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's inpatient care department is undergoing an exciting transformation, and we are now expanding our core staffing for nurses. We are here for children and adolescents with severe psychiatric issues who require inpatient care. The length of stay varies depending on the assignment, as we function as both an acute department and a treatment department.
We are now looking for two new colleagues for permanent positions.
As a nurse in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's inpatient care, you will be part of a team of 19 colleagues consisting of caregivers, nurses, coordinators, ward doctors, and ward managers. The team includes both new and experienced staff. We have a close collaboration with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's outpatient and intermediate care and the competencies available there.
As a nurse, you will work as a team leader on certain days. You will participate in rounds, plan and evaluate patients' care needs and medical treatment. We recently introduced an acute process that means we receive calls around the clock from patients and relatives in need of advice and support. We also receive patients who require urgent assessment. We place great importance on ensuring that the entire family's support needs are addressed, so it is important that you can adapt your approach and demeanor based on the situation and the person.
We are looking for a colleague who is confident in themselves and their competence and finds it challenging to work with the unpredictable to some extent. Within the team, we try to make the most of the moments available to gain new knowledge but also for recovery and having fun at work.
We offer a newly developed internal introductory training, mentorship, supervision, and regular development time. You will work two weekends out of five on a rotating schedule of days, evenings, and nights.
About You
If you are our new colleague, you are a licensed nurse. If you are a psychiatric nurse and/or have experience working with children and young people with eating disorders, suicidality, or psychoses in inpatient care, we consider this an advantage.
We want you to be flexible, have good collaboration skills, and be able to remain calm in stressful situations. You have a strong patient focus and see the opportunity to work together with patients and their families to achieve success in treatment.
For us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents with psychiatric issues and that you want to help develop our operations! Personal suitability is of great importance. Candidates who are being considered for employment must present a certificate from the Police Authority's criminal record before employment.
Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a crisis placement. Some of our positions are classified for security, where the employee must undergo a security clearance interview and background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
As selection and interviews are ongoing, we ask you to submit your application as soon as possible.
