Personal Assistant Wanted

I am a 37-year-old man living in Täby, planning to move to Åkersberga. I am looking for someone around my age to work as my personal assistant. Some of my interests include visiting various museums, going to the cinema, concerts, music, genealogy, and history.

I am also very interested in hockey, and AIK is the team closest to my heart. It would be great if you also like hockey and perhaps even AIK, but if you prefer another team, that is perfectly fine.

I use a wheelchair and need help with eating, drinking, dressing and undressing, showering, and toilet needs, essentially everything. I require assistance to live, and I enjoy going out and doing things, preferably outside the home. I understand everything but cannot speak verbally. When I communicate, I use body language and a letter board to express what I want. I am currently training to use a new communication aid that is eye-controlled.

I have a severe CP injury since birth, I am spastic in my muscles, and I have epilepsy. I can have mild seizures from time to time that drain my strength and energy, but they always pass on their own.

It can be a bit frustrating not to always be understood, so it is good if you have enough patience for both of us. I am a guy with a lot of humor, so I hope you are quick to laugh and have a positive personality.

I would like you to be good at coming up with your own initiatives and suggestions for fun activities during the day. You should be creative but also have a great understanding that my energy and willingness can vary from day to day.

Sometimes I have a small West Highland White Terrier that I take care of for my sister, so you cannot be allergic to dogs. I like to swim, so it would be fitting if you also enjoy that and are not allergic to chlorine. I enjoy playing games because I can roll the dice myself, which feels great.

In the summer, I sometimes go to my summer place in Riala, and due to poor public transportation there, it is good if you have a driver's license and access to a car, but it is not a requirement to apply.

When Do You Need to Be Available?

You will work 24-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM, including on-call duty. I hope you can start your introduction soon.

I am looking for both someone who wants to work a fixed part-time schedule and someone who wants to work weekends.

I do not require previous experience in similar work; personal suitability is what is valued the most. I welcome male applicants, but women are also welcome.
