Job Description

As a Senior Planner, you play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of the project by providing expert support to the Project Manager in all planning, scheduling, WBS, and progress control matters. You are the project’s authority on time management, critical path analysis, and Earned Value Management, and you act as a role model in the application of the PID Project Model.  

You are responsible for establishing, maintaining, and communicating a robust and reliable Master Time Schedule that covers all project phases – from engineering and procurement to installation and commissioning – in full alignment with contractual requirements and project governance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Control

• Establish, maintain, and control the Master Time Schedule baseline in accordance with contract, Project Management Plan, and Time Management Plan
• Integrate and coordinate discipline and supplier schedules into one coherent project schedule
• Continuously monitor progress across all project phases and report deviations from baseline
• Identify, analyze, and communicate critical path(s), risks, and opportunities, and propose mitigation or recovery actions
• Apply and maintain Earned Value Management, providing clear insight into schedule performance

Governance, Contract & Change

• Review contractual time management requirements and raise risks or inconsistencies to the Project Manager
• Analyze scope changes and assess impact on schedule and contractual milestones
• Identify and register potential change orders and support claims together with PCM / Contract Manager

Procurement & Interfaces

• Support Procurement Manager and suppliers in planning and scheduling during procurement phases
• Coordinate procurement schedules with site-need dates for installation and commissioning
• Manage scheduling interfaces internally and towards the Client

Reporting & Communication

• Prepare schedule updates, progress reports, and planning-related appendices for project reporting
• Communicate schedule status, deviations, and recovery plans to stakeholders at all levels
• Represent the planning discipline in senior-level customer meetings

Tools, Processes & Team Leadership

• Establish and maintain planning and scheduling tools in line with contract, IT Management Plan, and internal procedures
• Ensure structured progress collection and reporting according to WBS and PMI
• Lead and support team members in planning, setting priorities, and ensuring quality
• Excellent P6 competence is required
• Follow and continuously improve planning procedures and working methods
• Capture and contribute to Lessons Learned throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

Your Profile

• Strong experience as a Senior / Lead Planner in large or complex construction projects is required
• Proven competence within Earned Value Management, PMI, and critical path analysis
• Solid understanding of engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning planning
• Comfortable working with contractual time requirements and client-facing discussions
• Structured, analytical, and confident communicator with senior stakeholders
